UROCAL - Unión Regional de Organizaciones Campesinas Litoral

UROCAL, or the Unión Regional de Organizaciones Campesinas del Litoral, is located in Guayas, Ecuador, in the El Oro province. The association is is made up of women's organizations, youth associations, credit unions and small businesses that produce their own food products, mainly organic cocoa and bananas. It includes over 600 farming families. The organization uses their Fair Trade premium money on a variety of social programs, including education, medical and dental clinics, organic community gardens, composting facilities and protective safety equipment for workers.
